Seattle Police were investigating after a person was found dead Saturday morning in an alley near 12th Ave and Terrace.
A 911 caller reported a body in a pool of blood behind the offices of the Men’s and Women’s Chorus just before 7:30 AM Saturday.
Seattle Fire was called to the scene but the person was reported deceased according to radio updates.
Police were cordoning off the area to investigate the scene and collect evidence.
Earlier in the night, a single gunshot was reported around 1 AM but responding police were unable to locate where it occurred, according to East Precinct radio updates.
No firearm was reported found with the body.
UPDATE: Police say they are investigating a “possible homicide.”

Seattle Police Homicide detectives are investigating after a male was found deceased in Yesler Terrace neighborhood.
Shortly after 7:00 a.m., dispatch received a call by a passerby that a man was down in the 300 block of 12th Avenue [alley to the west]. Police arrived and located a deceased male in his 50’s with obvious head trauma.
Officers secured the area until Homicide detectives and members of the Crime Scene Investigation Unit arrived.
The Homicide Unit will be leading the investigation.

The murder marks the second homicide investigation for the East Precinct in February after the 28-year-old victim in a 20th and Jefferson shooting died of his injuries earlier this month.

Wait, wasn’t it also the Men’s and Women’s Chorus building that get broken into/vandalized 4 times in a row last week?? That was definitely in the news. Extremely odd coincidence if this is unrelated…
I think it was King 5 that reported it was a man who had been sleeping outside in that same spot for several years that was murdered.
So sad – I live in one of the building across from where he would sleep. He never bothered anyone and kept to himself. He didn’t even have a tent or possessions so a robbery doesn’t seem likely.
