Victim in serious condition, police search for alleged armed assailant after E Olive Way rock beating

A suspect was reportedly pointing a handgun at nightlife patrons and passersby and one person suffered serious head injuries after being hit by a rock and knocked out during an E Olive Way street fight late Tuesday night.

Seattle Police were called to E Olive Way’s Crescent Lounge just before midnight where the victim in the assault had been brought inside after being struck in the head and knocked unconscious in the fight involving five or six people including the reported gunman.

Seattle Fire provided an “assault with weapons” level response to the call to treat the 40-year-old victim before transporting him to Harborview in serious condition.

East Precinct radio updates around 11:45 PM described a group of males fighting along E Olive Way and Bellevue including one suspect reportedly carrying a handgun and chasing another male. Witness accounts also described the suspect pointing the gun at bystanders.

Police were searching the area for a group of male teens including the reportedly armed suspect described as a black male with dreadlocks wearing a black jacket and carrying a firearm inside a crossbody bag.

No gunfire was reported at the scene. During the investigation on E Olive Way, a report of shots fired and yelling was reported in Madrona and police were dispatched to investigate.

According to a department spokesperson, there were no arrests for the E Olive Way rock assault. Anybody with information is asked to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.

Between the loiterers outside city market and the sketchiness behind that area in the alley/Crawford I am not surprised. There is always an ambulance or cop car called other area. Stay safe folks if you walk through there, I live by there and have been threatened by folks because I didn’t have any loot for them.

Once again SPD shows up late to take notes and doesn’t do much else. Where is all their money going?
