  1. This is fucked up. Get all criminals off the streets – this is unacceptable. Enforce the rules, including on all criminal drug sellers + tent dwellers.

  2. Every week the north end of Broadway has been having shootings. Never really used to. Since policing changed after 2020 (no enforcement on many drug related crime after BLM and Defund) and since several new LIHI managed buildings for low-barrier drug users opened north of the Link rail station, the more ‘urban’ problems have been leakng northward. Now most days Broadway Ave north of John/Olive Way has multiple numbers of drug after dark as dealers and users stake out popular corners.

New normal for the Hill. New arrivals won’t notice. Old timers one by one just leave. A once beautiful part of Seattle has turned feral and dark. For years “Blooms on Broadway” was a popular spot on the corner of Republican and Broadway. Now its a bank branch that closes at 5 and is often taken over by drug people after that. The tone of the area is grimy and menacing now. Did not used to be. There’s no way an open corner florist could survive that corner now. Drug people would rob it blind or just wreck the flower displays.

Joy Hollinsworth is a lot better than Sawant but she’s only one voice with a full plate. Seattle continues to degrade into drug and crime while whole groups of Progressives cheer the criminal justice reforms that let repeat felons out without bail.

    Just new normal.

  3. ” … the Gun Violence Reduction Unit”
lol, only in Seattle. The problem isn’t as simple as this PC name implies.
