The 12th Ave cocktail joint announced business partners Ken Jones and Saulo Cruz will lead the tavern into its next chapter:

The story continues…For years, Tavern Law has been a gathering place for friends, neighbors, and cocktail lovers alike. Today, we’re excited to welcome Saulo & Ken as the new owners.πŸ–€ With a passion for people and a love of craft, they’re here to keep the heartbeat of Tavern Law alive while building new traditions for the community we love. Here’s to cocktails, connection, and the next chapter together.

The pairing places Tavern Law into a growing Capitol Hill food and drink family.

Cruz is part of the ownership behind Capitale Pizzeria that joined the Broadway dining and lounge scene last year. CORRECTION: Cruz is a partner in the ownership of La Fontana Siciliana in Belltown with Rodrigo Parisi, managing partner of Capitale Pizzeria. He is not part of the ownership of the Broadway pizza joint. Sorry for the error!

It comes on a changing block of 12th Ave where Mighty-O Donuts just shuttered and the new Indian-flavored Mint & Martini has taken over the sprawling Barrio space.

The acquisition marks the third generation of ownership for Tavern Law.

CHS reported here in 2018 as two investors from outside food+drink stepped in to take over the cocktail bar amid financial challenges.

Brian McCracken opened Tavern Law with Dana Tough in 2009.

Tavern Law is located at 1406 12th Ave. Learn more at tavernlaw.com.
