Concerned that protests attempting to leverage attention around the service might disrupt the funeral of Gloria Leonidas, a group formed a human shield of love Thursday morning in front of Montlake’s St. Demetrios Orthodox Church.

No protesters were present.

Earlier this week, CHS reported on memorials for Leonidas who was shot to death in a First Hill parking lot by Ian Stawicki during his May 30th killing spree. The lot will feature a tribute to Leonidas as a beam of light will illuminate the place where she died through June 18th, the night of a community forum to discuss the wave of violence that has hit Seattle.
