CHS reported here on how East Precinct officers recognized McQueen in video capturing the 1:10 AM shooting outside Cultura early on Monday, May 18th from his arrest just weeks before.
The suspect was also easy to recognize due to his stature. Police say the 19-year-old stands only 5’6″. A distinctive Ed Hardy hoodie also aided in the identification.
Police have not said how the suspect was later tracked to a nearby apartment building.
CHS reported here on Friday’s SWAT operation in the development above Capitol Hill Station in which the suspect was taken into custody.
The suspected teen shooter remains behind bars on $1.5 million bail.
The shooting appears to have been sparked by an altercation outside the club. Video showed a physical fight between two groups with club security attempting to intervene before a series of gunshots. Police say one of the people injured was involved in the fight while the other two people hit were bystanders.
Police say they later located McQueen’s ID on the first victim.
The victims in the shooting are recovering including at least one shot in the abdomen and wrist who remains hospitalized. The family of one of the victims is seeking the community’s help with medical expenses.

Should be attempted murder. Weak a** prosecutors.
yes, I’m sure you know better. perhaps you should go tell them! anyhow with 3 assault 1 charges plus extra years for the gun I don’t think he’ll be out particularly soon.
Bless your heart
With a comment like that one might assume you’ve reviewed all the evidence, know all the facts of the case, and have consulted with the DA office about their prosecutorial plans.
Or maybe you’re just spouting off nonsense based on assumptions and biases.
These criminal charges have very strict criteria that need to be filled to gain a conviction. Would you like to risk this suspect going free because the prosecutors, in an effort to not appear ‘weakass’ to you, are unable to convince a jury to convict on a charge that does not match the case, when more appropriate charges would have been a slam dunk and resulted in years of jail time?
I’d agree with you mainly because he left one person critically injured. But I have no idea what the county prosecutor thought. BTW she’s up for reelection this year and I have yet to see anyone sign up to challenge her
The problem is a conviction. “I didn’t mean to kill them” is actually a defense-ish. Might help during sentencing.
Even if he’d have killed someone? It’d be charged as 2nd degree due to wanting the conviction to stick.
He could say he felt he was in danger yada yada yada. It gets really murky. But an assault charge is a way to almost guarantee a conviction. A prosecutor builds their reputation on convictions. So they like to make sure they get them. There’s no points for degree of difficulty.
They should add additional charges for wearing an Ed Hardy sweatshirt.
Extreme gullibility with intent to mortify.
I’m still not over it.
I’m surprised to discover that Ed Hardy clothing is making a comeback!
