SPD’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit is investigating after a driver said another driver shot him in the hand in a late Thursday night shooting on First Hill:

Around 11:45 police received report of gunfire at 9th Avenue and Madison Street. Officers arrived and found a man with a gunshot wound to his hand. He told officers he’d been stopped at a stoplight when a silver Mercedes pulled alongside him, and the passenger in the vehicle opened fire.

Police say the 31-year-old was taken by officers to nearby Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

The E Madison shooting was part of multiple gun violence incidents Thursday including a shootout in the Central District and an exchange of gunfire that left a teen critically injured in Hillman City.
